Slider Card

I took a Craftsy class. Actually I have taken quite a few. I love how I can take the class at my own pace.  I took Create Stunning Birthday Cards class some time ago.  Lesson 3 teaches how to make slider cards.

I’m sharing a slider card I created for a beautiful six year old.  I made a shaker card for her last year, so I’m trying not to dissapoint cause the shaker card was awesome! You can take a look at it here

I think she is gonna love it.

Purple Passion

I made a card for a friend who L O V E S lip color.  I’m sure she has every lip color imaginable!  I’d love to see that collection.  Her favorite color is purple so I created the card base from purple card stock, the card is 8.5 x 5.5.

I first drew the lips and lipstick images with a gold tone Sakura pen with the Cameo then changed to the ratchet blade to cut them out.  I inked each image in different colors adding perfect pearls for the shine and sparkle and clear embossed the birthday sentiment.  I made a cluster on the left side and embossed the bottom panel.

It was so much fun.  Hope you like it.

Sharing Handmade Kindness

I have been following Jennifer McGuire Inc for quite a while and for the the entire month of November she is having weekly challenges and I just happen to have a card to submit.

You can check out the challenge here.

In September I celebrated a milestone birthday with an awesome gathering of friends and family.  My girlfriend’s husband began taking photos of the event and was gracious enough to share those photos with me. I am so greatfull for those awesome memories.  As scrapbookers we document memories and I will be forever greatfull for the photos Chris took.  To show my appreciation, I got him a small gift and of course I made him a card.

This card is to show my appreciation for kindness.

A big thank you greeting with layered cameras and a small shaker highlighting the recepiants name.

Challenge Submission

I am participating in the CASology challenge this week. The cue word is HEART.  I L O V E the heart shape so I just had to come up with something. Of course I racked my brain all week for the ideal design. I have so many heart shaped stamps and actually made a card, but I trashed it cause I didn’t like it.  I was working on another project, digging through my supplies and came across a chipboard piece I made with my Slice some time ago and low and behold a design came to me.

It’s clean and simple with the chipboard piece, silver heart and arrow rub on with stick on alphabets.

Birthday card featuring Art Impressions Stamp

I am so happy, I’m going to have a crafty weekend.  I had to work on Saturday but I have all day Sunday and Monday since Monday is Columbus Day HOLIDAY. For me that mean craft, craft and craft some more.  But before I get my craft on, I can finally share two birthday cards I made for a special friend.

The first card folds back and props up displaying the birthday scene with the focal image surrounded by gifts. I just love it.  This is a 8.5 x 5.5 inch card. I paper pieced the stamped image.

The second card also features an Art Impressions stamp.  I wish I could have all of their stamps. They are just too cute. I enjoy coloring and paper piecing the images.  Such great fun.

I have quite a few thank you and birthday cards to make so I’m off to get busy.

I got a new tool

I decided I wanted to begin making my own envelopes so I got the 1 2 3 Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers.  You can make envelopes that can accommodate cards that have dimension, which I love and desperately needed. I get to use beautiful paper and decorate my envelopes however I want. That makes me happy.

With the punch board you can make envelopes, boxes and bows in many sizes.  I’ve made a few envelopes already and just love it!

Blocks of Color Challenge

Hi,

The challenge this week at CAS-ual Fridays is to use blocks of color to made a clean and simple card.

The card I made used left over pieces of other projects I recently worked on, and it came together quite quickly.

The die cut label was a extra from another project that was laying around, I placed the die cut “you” on it to color it a bit and when I removed it from the label I really liked it and whet from there.  It’s pretty CAS! lol
